Hi,

I’m JoJo - mum, worker bee, serial baker, and happiest in the great outdoors.

In 2025, my husband and I moved to Zambia with our two young boys, drawn by the allure of wide open spaces, a different pace of life, and his work in conservation

My husband is a seasoned country-hopper. For a long time he could fit his life into two kit bags and has lived all over the world. Me? More of a homebody, though happiest when the Landy’s packed and we’re heading into the bush - binoculars in hand, gin close by. And if there’s cell signal… we’ve definitely not gone far enough.

We underestimated what the move and settling in would involve.

There have been plenty of rookie mistakes (and more hours than I’d like in government offices), but we’re learning as we go - where to go, what to do, and how to make the most of this beautiful country.

If nothing else, I hope you can learn from a few of my mistakes and feel inspired to explore a little more of this incredible place.
